Spain

For a long time Spain was the team that couldn’t perform on big tournaments. After their win at Euro 2008 that was a closed discussion, and to show the world their best they did it again at the World Cup 2010 in South-Africa. In the final they beat Holland after extra time by 1-0. For Euro 2012 they are top favourite again, but Holland will look out for revenge.

Qualification is not going to be a problem for Spain, because they already won their five matches. Unibet is giving 3.75 to 1 odds for Spain to become champion at the Euro 2012 and 1.50 to 1 odds for making it to the semi finals. That last one is looking like a surebet, but in football you will never know. Can Spain book their third big win in six years or are we going to see a new winner at the Euro 2012 in Poland and Ukraine?

Scotland

When they saw their draw in this qualification stage Scotland was focussed on the second place behind Spain. After four matches this is going to be difficult, because Czech Republic is already in front five points. But Scotland is not out of chances, they only played four matches while Czech Republic already played five of their eight fixtures.

For their great fans we hope that Scotland can make it to the play-offs, so they can dream of going to Euro 2012 in Poland and Ukraine. Unibet got 4 to 1 odds for Scotland to finish in second place behind World Champion Spain.

Lithuania

In a group with Spain, Czech Republic and Scotland the national team of Lithuania didn’t expect that they would have a shot at qualification for Euro 2012. After five matches we see they managed to get four points and that is not going to be enough to make it to the top of this group. It was a big suprise when they beat Czech Republic, but they blew their chances when they lost 2-0 to Liechtenstein.

If you think Lithuania still has the chance of becoming second you should bet on the 12.50 to 1 odds that Unibet is giving.

Liechtenstein

Liechtenstein is probably one of the smallest countries in Europe and that is why they can’t get anything going on the pitch. Liechtenstein never got anywhere in those qualification stages and it’s kind of a miracle that they booked one victory in this campaign. That won’t bring them to Euro 2012, but at least they can say they won a match.

In the upcoming months they will play against Lithuania (away), Spain (away) and Scotland (home), so it is going to be really difficult to book another succes.

Czech Republic

If we think of Czech Republic, we think of names like Pavel Nedved and Jan Koller. Those players are retired so it is time for their new players to become as big as their heroes. The national team should focus on making it to the play-offs, because they can’t win the group with leader Spain in it. With nine points out of five matches they have a good shot, but Scotland is not far away if they win their fifth match.

On Unibet you can bet on Czech Republic to become second behind Spain and you are getting 1.30 to 1 odds for this bet. For winning Euro 2012 Unibet is giving you 75 to 1 odds.

Portugal

Portugal is always one of the big outsiders at big tournament. At the World Cup 2010 they didn’t make it far, but with great players like Cristiano Ronaldo, Nani and Meireles they probably get another shot at Euro 2012 next summer in Poland and Ukrain. Before we can look at their chances of winning, we first take a look at their chances of even qualify for this event.

Portugal has the leading position in Group H, but Denmark and Norway are having the same results based on points. At Unibet we see Portugal is the big favourite with 1.55 to 1 odds to win this group and 1.07 to 1 for place one and two. With Cyprus (away), Iceland (home) and Denmark (away) on their schedule the fans don’t wan’t anything less then a ticket to Euro 2012 without play-offs.

Iceland

Just like Cyprus the national team of Iceland is not playing any role in this Group with Norway, Denmark and Portugal. In the five matches they played in this qualification stage they only got one draw, and with one point they are already out of changes. One of the reasons of this bad results is the difficulty of making goals. In their five matches they only scored two goals and that is definetly not enough to make it to Euro 2012.

Denmark

Denmark managed to qualify for the World Cup 2010 in a tough group with teams like Portugal and Hungary. This time they are playing against Portugal as well and it’s really exciting in the top of this group. Both teams and Norway managed to get ten points out of five matches, so the last three fixtures are going to get a decision.

Denmark has the advantage of playing at home against Norway and Portugal, while their other match is away at Cyprus. Unibet is giving 4.50 to 1 odds for Denmark to win Group H and 1.65 to 1 odds for making it in the top two.

Cyprus

Two points after four matches. With that result we can say that Cyprus is not going to qualify for Euro 2012 next summer. They probably didn’t expect to qualify, because they are in a really though group with Portugal, Denmark, Norway and Iceland. It is not a suprise for the followers of football, because Cyprus never did any good in qualification stages. Everytime they manage to win a couple of matches, but it is never enough to get a chance to qualify.

Wales

One thing that we are sure off is Wales not performing at the Euro 2012 in Poland and Ukraine. The national team, with absolut star Ryan Giggs, lost all of their four matches in this qualification round and only manage to score one goal. With that, we can say Wales is playing for “friendly” matches in their upcoming qualification games.

They could be pretty important in this group, because they still have to play against Montenegro and England, who are battling for the first spot and a ticket to Euro 2012.
